Eco Fashion Event

Our Eco Fashion Event in June 2024 was a true celebration of sustainability and circular fashion, with clothing being upcycled, refashioned, and redesigned by our talented Timebank members and community supporters. Can you believe that dungarees and bags were actually created from duvet covers and bedsheets? A special shout-out to Sue and Janet for their outstanding work in creating sensational accessories. It just goes to show that fashion shouldn’t cost the earth.

The audience was absolutely fantastic, and we were able to raise funds for West Wight Timebank, the renovation of Freshwater Parish Hall and our community partners - Mountbatten Hospice, Wessex Cancer Support, and IOW Foodbank.
Thanks to Rapanui for providing T-shirts and robes for the show, as well as to The Cabin, Elliot’s, Freshwater Coffee House, Orchard Bros, and our dedicated members for selling show tickets.

The Eco Gown, designed and created by Tara Krishna, a costume design student from UAL, was a showstopper, highlighting the urgent need to reduce plastic usage. And let's not forget the stunning statement upcycled gold dress created by Jasmine from the Pathways course at the Isle of Wight College. Hats off to Sally Gaeta for the brilliant concept, design, and execution of this event. And a special mention to Gioia Minghella for being a fantastic host and emcee.

The Timebank Eco Fashion Event was a night filled with creativity, passion, and a shared commitment to making a positive impact on our environment.
